St. Luke’s Health System in Boise is seeking a Pharmacy Technician - Medication Authorization to join our Medication Access team.

Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the Medication Authorization Supervisor, the Medication Authorization Specialist will:
Interact with internal staff such as pharmacists, medical/clinical staff, revenue cycle personnel, patient access services staff including financial advocates, and coding staff
Interact with external contacts such as third party payers, prescription benefit management companies, governmental peer review organizations, and referring physicians
Work with working referrals related to prescription medications for various disease states
O btain prior authorization from intermediaries and payers, including managed care companies, insurance companies, and review organizations
Maximize revenue capture for high-cost medications .
The Medication Authorization Specialist works autonomously and proficiently and provides communication skills necessary to help guide the provider, patient, and insurance company.
The Medication Authorization Specialist also participates in other duties related to the day-to-day operations within the department.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is required
Valid Idaho Pharmacy Technician Registration is required
Three (3) years' experience is preferred
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is preferred
