A Place to Be Proud.ResponsibilitiesAccepts prescriptions, establishes billing/patient charges, documents patients allergies correctly, interprets and enters information regarding the outpatient prescription into the computer systemPrepares and packages injectable and oral medication for outpatient useIndependently resolves on-line adjudication problems with Third Party Payors without pharmacist interventionMaintains the cleanliness and neatness of the outpatient pharmacyReplenishes pharmacy stock area and notifies pharmacist or inventory coordinators of concernsUtilizes math and problem-solving skills (i.e. algebra) to calculate amount of drug needed for preparation of prescriptions.QualificationsKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:Education:High school diploma or equivalentRegistered with the Ohio State Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Registered Technician or Technician Trainee (until application for Certified Registered status is achieved).Certification by examination as a pharmacy technician (CPhT, ExCPT)Demonstrated skills in algebra by passing score on math competency administered on siteRequired Experience:Six months of previous pharmacy experience preferredThe above list of duties is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by individuals assigned to this classification.
