Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician I, under general supervision of a pharmacist,performs entry level technical tasks within the pharmacy department. Based onarea of assignment, responsibilities may include medication preparation,dispensing, inventory control, and basic computer system operations.Demonstrates the ability to competently work in general areas of pharmacypract
Essential Functions:
Fills and delivers/dispenses medications under the supervision of a licensedpharmacist. Uses appropriate systems for processing of patient information.(50%)Triages and escalates any questions or issues outside the pharmacy technicianscope of practice to the staff pharmacist or supervisor as needed. (35%)Ensures adequate supplies are available for continuous patient care. Operatespharmacy equipment appropriately. (15%)Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required andPost High School Diploma or Certificate Program Completion of a pharmacytechnician training program, preferredWork Experience:
less than 1 year experience as a pharmacy technician in a healthcare or retailsetting, preferredLicenses:
CPHT-Certified Pharmacy Technician - PTCB - Pharmacy Technician CertificationBoard Required andPHAT-Licensed Pharmacy Technician - DORA - Department of Regulatory AgenciesRequired andKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
