Job Description:
Summary: The Personnel Security Specialist II will provide personnel security support services to the client that include, but are not limited to, interpreting existing regulations, assisting support offices in processing requests for investigation and, when appropriate, obtaining preclearance for interim hiring or contractor activity. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of suitability processing as well as intelligence community security processing in accordance with the all applicable directives, regulations, manuals, and guidelines to adequately discharge the duties and responsibilities. Research technological advancements to ensure that security solutions are continuously improved, supported, and aligned with industry and company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepare case work for preliminary vetting requests which includes reviewing and analyzing questionnaires for background investigations, agency security forms, criminal law checks, credit bureau reports and other reports as necessary for integrity and fitness, suitability.
Perform any background investigation checks required, identify and associate risk and sensitivity levels, identify integrity and fitness, suitability, and security issues while updating case summary worksheet with all actions taken in the case.
Review security paperwork for accuracy and completeness, evaluate the authenticity of data or documentation obtained from a variety of sources.
Conduct investigative checks, such as, but not limited to, Personnel Investigation Processing System or Central Verification System checks, Credit checks, FBI Fingerprint checks, FBI Name checks, and Selective Service Registration checks.
Review the results of continuous vetting checks, properly safeguarding sensitive information to include, but not limited to, Privacy Act Protected Information, and Personally Identifiable Information.
Work within business processing systems. Update the agency’s personnel security database with correct data and create the appropriate processing activity to ensure proper routing of all cases.
Upload all relevant supporting documents to case document tab.
Provide necessary research, information gathering, reviewing, analyzing and compiling pertinent personnel security information into a case summary.
Provide customer service, prepare emails, memos, Letters of Interrogatory, Letters of Advisement and Conditional Approval Letters.
Manage assigned caseload in an effort to meet target deliverable timelines as required.
Security Requirement:
Public TrustMinimum Qualifications:
Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a security administration work environment to include personnel security, background investigation industry, physical security or private sector security experience associated with Federal Government contracting.
Minimum of two and a half (2.5) years’ experience in case work requiring the professional to use the appropriate guidelines of 5 C.F.R. part 731, 1400, and executive orders 10450, 12968, and 13764.
Experience working within business processing systems to include a personnel security case management system.
Experience in communicating with customers, and constructing Letters of Interrogatory, Letters of Advisement and Conditional Approval Letters. Must be able to multitask and be attentive to details.
Physical Requirements: This position requires employees to be willing and able to: sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.
Communication: Excellent customer service via phone and face to face conversation, excellent written and oral command of English.
