Force Protection/OPSEC Security
The Personnel Security Specialist is an on-site position responsible for the primary execution of the PERSEC system of record, Defense Information Security System (DISS).
Provide in-person PERSEC customer service to HQ Austin to include Badge issuance, credentialing, and maintenance, in and out processing, incoming and outgoing visit certification, and clearance verifications.
As the first Security professional to be seen at the AFC space on the 15th floor of the UTS, this position will represent the initial face of security to the Command and requires excellent customer service skills.
This person will support HQ AFC’s visitor program by issuing and retrieving visitor badges, escorting personnel, and answering questions.
Assists with badging, physical security, anti-terrorism, emergency management planning, and OPSEC.
Supports the PERSEC Program Manager and maintains knowledge of security regulations, local SOPs, AFC command structure, and changes to the PERSEC tools necessary for the execution of the position, including DISS.
Management of training requirements and platforms such as Army Training Requirements and Resources Systems (ATRRS), Digital Management Training System (DTMS), and Total Employee Development (TED).

Other Responsibilities :
Perform other duties as assigned in support of the organization’s mission.
Adhere to company's AS9100 and QMS policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Comprehensive knowledge of the Defense Information Security System (DISS)
Knowledge of the Personnel Security Investigation Portal (PSIP)
Knowledge of electronic access control systems using badges or tokens
Ability to prepare and/or edit written correspondence, ensuring proper use of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
Ability to maintain a high degree of attention to detail.
Ability to communicate verbally clearly with at least a cursory understanding of either military or civilian protocol when supporting senior or VIP personnel.
Possess demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
Able to work effectively in a small team environment.
Training requirement: All annual training for personnel with security clearances as well as any environmental or other new mandatory training requirements.
Education : AA/AS from an accredited college or technical school; Experience: Minimum of 3 years direct, relevant PERSEC experience.
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED : Must hold a minimum of final (not interim) SECRET Security clearance at time of hire. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
