JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Human Resources (HR) is searching for an analytics professional to join our People Analytics group. Part of HR’s Operational Excellence and IT team, the People Analytics group supports people decisions at the University through the application of advanced analytics and the development of custom data-driven solutions. This position is highly cross-functional and reports to the Senior People Analytics Consultant.This position has the potential to be performed fully remote or as a hybrid of remote and on-site working.

In this role, every day is different, and you can expect to work on projects and ad-hoc requests to inform strategy and address critical human capital questions in areas such as diversity, equity, talent management, recruitment, retention, and engagement. You may develop dashboards and metrics, analyze and present data, design and analyze surveys, conduct benchmarking, design assessments, perform modeling and analytics, and conduct other tasks as necessary to inform talent strategies.
A successful candidate works collaboratively to take an ambiguous problem and deliver insights using quantitative and qualitative assessments, often from complex and messy data sources. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of curiosity, is an expert storyteller, and is equally comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
This job will be filled as a level 2, 3 or 4 depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher plus 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a level 2. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for a level 3 or 4 position.
Minimally required:
Intermediate or advanced skills in using Excel for data management, analysis, and visualization
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and data literacy skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality when handling sensitive data
This may be an ideal position for you if you have:
Education or experience in HR
Experience in using and/or building Workday reports and dashboards
Proficiency in statistics and visualization tools such as R and PowerBI
Experience in text analysis and qualitative assessments
Experience in designing, validating, and analyzing surveys
