Organization Overview AdLib, Inc. is a non-profit that focuses onempowering people with disabilities to access and manage benefits,services, and resources to live independently in the community. We are aconsumer controlled, consumer directed service that assists people withdisabilities to achieve a greater level of independence. As a Center forIndependent Living we provide the five core services: information andreferral, skills training, advocacy (systemic and individual), peercounseling, and transition (from nursing home to community and youth toadulthood). In addition to the core independent living services weoperate the MassHealth (Medicaid) funded personal care managementprogram, SSA Representative Payee program, MRC vocational rehabilitationservices, and long term care options counseling. AdLib serves all ofBerkshire County and our office is conveniently located near publictransportation in downtown Pittsfield MA. PCA Skills Trainer The PCA (personal careattendant) Skills Trainer helps consumers with physical disabilitiesunderstand the MassHealth PCA program so that they can effectivelyutilize the services and live independently in the community. The SkillsTrainer provides \"functional skills training\" to PCA consumers toensure that the consumer and/or surrogate can effectively manage theirpersonal care program and meet their personal care needs. The positionis based in AdLib\'s Pittsfield office but involves travel throughoutBerkshire County and provides services in the consumers home. EssentialFunctions: Work closely with other staff to determine consumer?seligibility for services; regularly interact with consumers, theirfamilies, and caregivers; conduct and document annual assessments forservices; understand and be able to explain MassHealth program rules andregulations; entering required documentation correctly and timely inboth electronic and written formats; assist consumers in problem solvingso that they are able to stay on the program. This position is full-time40 hours (1 hour paid lunch daily) and 75% of work takes place in thePittsfield office or in the community. This position requires travelwith personal vehicle, home visits (ascending/descending stairs),electronic and written documentation, and ability to understandMassHealth rules and regulations. Primary working hours are 9am-5pm M-F.
