The HRBP primary responsibility will be to lead and direct the organization’s payroll process by coordinating, preparing, processing, and maintaining accurate and timely payrolls and all records associated with the payroll and benefits administration. Ensures practices comply with all federal, state, and county laws and regulations. Assists in the development of an employee-oriented company culture that emphasizes quality, continuous improvement, key employee retention and development, and high performance. This individual sets an example of a company culture of hard work, a positive attitude, commitment to satisfy the customer, and strong interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities: Payroll Processing:
Ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll system (Paylocity) including transactions, including salaries, commissions, bonuses, benefits, garnishments, taxes, new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates and other deductions
Register appropriate accounts with new states (i.e., SUI, SITW, local taxes, etc.) and update the payroll system with any tax changes.
Resolve issues with state and local tax accounts as appropriate.
Respond to inquiries and requests related to the preparation and distribution of payroll.
Compile payroll data (i.e. hours worked from an electronic timekeeping system) input HR/payroll data and track the bi-weekly payroll and timecard cycle.
Prepare detailed and accurate payroll reports for the finance department.
Reconcile 401(k) accounts, FSA, HSA, COBRA, and other benefit accounts in conjunction with Finance.
Ensure department assignments, costing and traceability of payroll to admin depts, sales, and service lines are accurate.
Maintain all leave records including but not limited to Paid Time Off leave, short-term disability, FMLA, Sick Time, etc.
Process 401(k) contributions and corresponding records on a bi-weekly basis.
Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit purposes.
Prepare and maintain accurate reports of payroll transactions.
Maintain confidential and up-to-date personnel files
Onboard new employees by configuring and utilizing the onboarding system in Paylocity
Benefits:
Serves as primary lead for company’s leave administration programs – FMLA, STD, LTD, COBRA
Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits, including health and dental, 401k, PTO, FMLA, and general employee personnel issues regarding payroll and benefits. Follow up as necessary with benefits brokers to ensure timely responses.
Prepare, reconcile, and distribute monthly/quarterly invoices to HR and Finance for benefit-related fees including 401k recordkeeping, payroll administration, and HR services fees.
Conduct benefit orientations with new hires
Assist with benefits open enrollment for eligible employees; assist with benefits administration including health, dental, voluntary life, vision, Section 125 flexible benefits, long-term disability, and 401k retirement plan.
Compile data from benefit programs in preparation for monthly and annual benefit audits.
HR Business Partner Responsibilities:
Maintain an effective onboarding process for new staff.
Provide HR support to management and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Provide reports that monitor HR key metrics such as headcount, turnover, and retention by department, supervisor, and company regularly.
Advise managers on employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
Determine and recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer-employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and motivation. Conduct periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
Review, advise, and approve management recommendations for employment terminations.
Assist in the management of benefit orientations, leave management programs such as FMLA, COBRA, and other benefits training for employees.
Overseeing the company's Wellness programs.
Develop and deliver employee/manager presentations regarding policies, benefits, handbook, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required or relevant experience.
Minimum of three to five years of payroll processing experience required
Minimum three to five years of human resources experience preferred.
Experience with Paylocity required. A minimum of three years is preferred.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel. Proven skills in VLookUp and Pivot Tables is a must.
Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
Ability to prioritize workload, multi-task, and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate company policies and procedures.

Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Salary Range: $65,000 - $80,000
