Job Title: Payroll Specialist

Job Description:

The Payroll Specialist carries out responsibilities that ensure accurate processing and recording of the company’s payroll, provide timely and accurate financial information, and participate in daily payroll department operations.

Responsibilities:

Perform daily payroll department operations.

Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and validate confirmed reports.

Process correct garnishment calculations and compliance.

Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.

Construct and produce ad-hoc reports as required.

Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, etc.).

Liaise with auditors and manage payroll tax audits.

Maintain and document all payroll records.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns.

Requirements

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist or similar role.

Strong knowledge of applicable payroll tax laws and regulations.

Proficient in using payroll software and MS Office (especially Excel).

Outstanding organizational and time-management skills.

Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.

High school diploma or equivalent; BSc/BA in business, accounting or relevant field will be a plus.

Certification (e.g. Certified Payroll Professional) is a plus.

The Payroll Specialist should possess strong attention to detail, be a confident communicator and problem solver, and maintain a deep understanding of payroll procedures. You should focus on promoting transparency and fairness in financial transactions throughout the company.
