  Payroll Associate Manager

  Working on large scope and complex operations, the Associate Manager of Payroll supports the Sr. Payroll Manager to ensure that payroll is consistently processed accurately and on-time by working closely with the Payroll team, cross-functional departments including, but not limited to, Human Resources, Tax, Benefits, Finance, and Information Technology.

  Essential Functions

  Maintains current operating knowledge of timekeeping and payroll systems and software.

  Maintains accuracy of timekeeping data including but not limited to: timecards, attendance, PTO, and analytics.

  Provides payroll analytics to Sr. Manager, Payroll

  Monitors and mitigates issues related to payroll processing.

  Encourages the use of technology to eliminate manual processes.

  Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.

  Identifies and implements process improvements to streamline end-to-end payroll processing.

  Ensures monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting are processed timely and accurately.

  Manages annual and quarterly payroll audits and reviews, including 401k and workers comp.

  Works closely with Finance, IT, and HR Operations to continuously improve business processes through automation and technology improvements.

  Manages vendor relationships

  Maintains strict confidentiality of all employee and other payroll related information.

  Qualifications

  Minimum Qualifications:

  6 Years – Experience in an in-house or outsourced payroll process role for a similar size company

  6 Years – Experience in Position

  6 Years – Experience managing people/projects

  *experience may include a combination of work experience and education

  Preferred Qualifications:

  10+ Years – Experience in an in-house or outsourced payroll process role for a similar size company

  10+ Years – Experience working in Position

  10+ Years – Experience managing people/projects

  *experience may include a combination of work experience and education

  Additionally, the ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  Ability to mentor team to drive for excellence.

  Knowledge of and experience with payroll software systems, preferably Workday Payroll.

  Knowledge of an experience with timekeeping and attendance systems, preferably Kronos.

  Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced, ever changing, team environment, handle multiple tasks and concurrent projects simultaneously, adapt quickly to changes and the discipline to complete last minute requests as needed.

  Strong organizational and time management skills.

  Able to execute tasks in a very dynamic and ever-changing environment.

  Proven record of accomplishment as honest, trustworthy and respectful with colleagues.

  Self-motivated with a proven record of taking the initiative.

  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail; strong drive for results.

  Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  Demonstrated ability to adapt to a wide range of priorities, take ownership, and follow them to completion.

  Ability to interact comfortably with employees at various levels of the organization.

  Able to work with no to moderate supervision.

  Exercise sound judgment and ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce.

  Education

  Minimum Required:

  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or other related field

  Preferred:

  Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources or other related field

  Certification/License:

  Required: N/A

  Preferred: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)

  Typical Compensation Range

  Pay Rate Type: Salary

  $106,022.00 - $148,430.00 / Yearly
