JOB REQUIREMENTS: JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under thedirection of the Patient Services Representative Supervisor, the PatientService Representative provides support with the daily activities whichincludes greeting patients, providing registration, telephone coverage,appointment scheduling, filing and patient referrals for Recovery Clinicpatients in accordance with company policies and procedures. ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may beassigned. Greet patients and direct them to appropriate person ordestination. Assist clients with special needs as required Answertelephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriatepersonnel, take messages. Provide registration and financial forms topatients and update required demographic information at the front desk.Ensure new patient information is completed. Ensure required demographicinformation is updated according to protocols. Register patientsaccording to protocols and ensure patient information is accurate.Collects payment from patients and reconcile cash receipts daily. Enterconfidential health information, demographics, and financial informationinto computerized system accurately including correct spelling. Verify,update and enter insurance into billing system not limited to adjusteffective date/term date of patient\'s insurance policy. Scheduleappointments according to scheduling protocols and ensure patientsreceive reminder calls. Obtain pre-certification as required bypatients\' health care insurers. Maintain strict patient confidentially.Provides excellent customer service: treats patients and coworkers withcourtesy and discretion. Receives incoming mail, sort and distribute toappropriate person, destination, or file. Notify Recovery Clinic staffupon patient arrival. Assist the doctors with clerical tasks. Attendsstaff meetings, trainings, and safety education/OSHA requirementsessions. Cross train with other clinic positions as appropriate. Followand comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintaindepartmental housekeeping standards. Complete special projects asassigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Requires High School diploma orGED, college preferred. Requires 6 to 12 months of related experiencewithin a busy customer service environment, preferably in a healthcaresetting. Healthcare and insurance verification experience preferred.Requires proven attention to detail and strong customer service skills.Ability to work under pressure.
