McFarland Clinic is currently accepting application for Patient Relations Specialist for its Ames location. Candidates should be service-oriented, a team player, and be able to provide extraordinary care, every day to our patients.
Responsible for receiving, managing and helping to resolve patient care concerns in accordance with McFarland Clinic’s Core Values and Promise. Serve as a liaison between patients, families, outside entities, and McFarland Clinic providers. Reports trends and issues to the Patient Relations/Risk Management team. Supports Patient Relations/Risk Management with clinic wide education related to risk management priorities.
Receives and responds to care related concerns from patients and families.
Works with the Patient Relations/Risk Management team and medical leadership for care concern resolution.
Reviews and identifies areas of risk through organizational reporting and patient satisfaction surveys.
Reviews data related to clinical concerns and patient experience to help identify trends for risk mitigation.
Supports internal investigations and reviews with the Patient Relations/Risk Management team as needed.
Meets with patients/families in person as needed to support the patient experience.
Reviews and updates Risk Management related policies and procedures.
Assists in the development and implementation of educational programs.
Maintains a systematic reporting system designed for the receipt, identification, reporting, examination, analysis, and implementation of corrective action and monitoring related to care related concerns.
Serves as a subject matter expert for the internal reporting system.
Serves as a resource for staff and providers concerning patient relations.
Supports the patient experience initiative by working with Human Resources, Operations, and the Patient Experience Committee to facilitate education and training.
Acts as a liaison between patients/families and McFarland Clinic physician/employees.
Maintains current knowledge base of national healthcare, patient safety and risk management trends.
Promotes a positive, professional image of the organization both internally and externally.
Performs related work as required
Education
Associates degree in Business Administration or Information Technology preferred.Days: Monday - Friday. Occasional evening hours for special events
Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Experience
2 to 5 years customer service experience preferred
Previous experience in a medical clinic or hospital setting preferred
