This is a benefit-eligible, part-time position (48 hours every two weeks), working 12-hour day shifts on various days and located at Scripps Memorial Hospital Encinitas.

　　The Medical Acute 2 North team is seeking a Patient Care Assistant who is self-motivated and committed to providing exceptional patient care. In this role you will be assisting patients with their activities of daily living, performing vital signs, and performing EKGs. This 37 bed unit primarily hosts a post-operative patient population with medical overflow. We are looking for someone who can work efficiently and collaborate as a team.

　　The duties of the Patient Care Assistant include:

　　Provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care teamAssists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environmentAssists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinicianSupports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation dutiesRequired Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

　　One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentalsAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care ProviderMust be able to speak, read and follow instruction in EnglishExcellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude
