*This is a benefit-eligible, full-time position (72 hours every 2 weeks) working 12 hour night shifts and located at Scripps Green Hospital.*

　　The ideal candidate will be someone who demonstrates a high level of compassion for their patients, and a strong desire to develop relationships and create connections. Working in our Bone Marrow department, you will assist with daily patient care, routinely checking vital signs, and ambulating patients. A high level of attention to infection control will be key as all patients are immune-suppressed. On this 24 bed unit, the department will see an average of 15 – 18 patients while the Patient Care Assistant will be assigned to an average of 8 patients per day.

　　The duties of a Patient Care Assistant include: * Providing excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. * Assisting patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. * Supporting the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties

　　Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

　　One year of recent experience working under the license of an licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentalsMust be able to speak, read and follow instruction in EnglishExcellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitudeAmerican Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care ProviderPreferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:
