System One has partnered with a fast-paced specialty clinic in Tulsa, OK in their search for a Patient Account Specialist. This person will be responsible for resolving insurance billing problems, answering patient inquiries, and assisting patients in setting up financial arrangements including payment plans.
Responsibilities:
Must be proficient in processing insurance appeals from start to finish; preferably specialty or Medicare appeals.
Perform patient account audits to ensure accurate and timely payment.
Review EOBs to ensure proper reimbursement, reporting any discrepancies to the Manager.
Assess patient financial requirements and advise patient and families on payment options, co-pay assistance, and other financial support. Monitor payment plans for agreed upon arrangements and contact patients that have fallen outside of their agreement.
Work with outside collection agency to get all patient accounts set up and accurately reported.
Perform reconciliation of refund accounts; forwarding documentation to Supervisor to process refund checks to correct recipient.
Follow up on all zero payment EOBs and exercises all options to obtain claim payments.
Requirements:
Minimum of 7 years experience in a medical business office setting with insurance processing and balancing responsibilities required.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must be very analytical in nature and have the ability to multi-task and reprioritize tasks as needed.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
