　　Your Responsibilities

　　As a Part-Time Student-Order Management-Software Engineer-Ames IA for John Deere Tech Works (Ames) located in Ames, Iowa, you will:

　　Be part of a team of students working for John Deere’s Order Management building scalable web and mobile applications residing on cloud architecture

　　Design, create and implement innovative applications

　　Improve your engineering skills with TDD, CI/CD, Git, Java, React, Node.js and other languages through developing applications

　　This position is not available to students on immigration visas.

　　What Skills You Need

　　Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Management Information Systems; others may apply

　　Must be registered as a full-time student at Iowa State University

　　Must be able to commute to work weekly at the ISU Research Park (on the bus route)

　　Graduation date of May 2026 or later

　　Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

　　Available to work 10 - 20 hours/week during the academic year

　　Available to work 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semesters and school breaks

　　Exposure to one or more programming languages; Java, NodeJS, Python or scripting like Perl

　　Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn new technologies

　　Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills

　　Exposure to continuous integration and continuous deployment concepts

　　Exposure to TDD practices

　　Background in networking, infrastructure, general cloud exposure, and experience with security concepts
