　　Job Summary and Qualifications

　　POSITION SUMMARY: The RN staff nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Las Palmas Del Sol Healthcare and the Texas Board of Nursing. In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family and other members of the healthcare team, the clinical RN assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and coordinates treatment plans.

　　REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (MUST BE KEPT CURRENT)

　　RN licensure in Texas or compact state.

　　BCLS

　　ACLS

　　REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

　　Associate Degree, Diploma in Nursing, or BSN.PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

　　Reads and writes Basic English with the basic skills necessary to transcribe physician’s orders.

　　Knowledge of body substance isolation.

　　Ability to listen, empathize and respond to patient, family, internal and external partners needs.

　　Speak/understand Spanish

　　Preferred experience as RN in Critical Care.

　　Preferred experience a RN 1-2 years in Med-Surg or Telemetry.

　　TNCC and CCRN Certification

　　Effective communication skills; both orally and written.

　　Basic Computer skills and proficiency

　　Ability to work with others within a team to ensure high quality patient care.

　　Strong problem solving, critical thinking, interpersonal & organizational skills.

　　Ability to move an excess of 100 pounds, with assistance from other staff
