About Part-Time Bilingual (English/Spanish) Nutritionist I/Professional

　　The Part-Time Nutritionist will serve as site coordinators at satellite sites as needed. Provide individual nutrition counseling and facilitate group education. Attend DHSS meetings as requested and required. Nutritionists will attend training to keep up to date with health, nutrition, breastfeeding and WIC topics. Represents the WIC program at health fairs and outreach events, meetings, etc., as needed. Serves as a breastfeeding advocate and refers clients to WIC breastfeeding staff. Prescribes the authorized supplemental foods based on nutrition needs and participant preferences. Provides nutrition education responsive to the identified needs and interests of participants. Documents an assessment and plan of care for all WIC participants. Makes appropriate referrals. Documents in WIC ACCESS, the nutrition risk, nutrition education contacts, assigned food packages and appropriate referral
