  Position Summary

  Lower Connecticut River Valley Council of Governments (RiverCOG) is seeking a part-time employee to join our team. This position requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to convey a positive attitude through communication mediums (phone, email, in-person). Standard daily functions include: clerical functions such as copying, scanning, sorting, filing, mailings, gathering documents for reports, contacting vendors and customers, and various as-needed tasks as directed by the Financial Administrator. Functions and responsibilities to be added in the future include assisting with human resources and bookkeeping tasks: various HR tasks, accounts payable, payroll, bank reconciliations, etc.

  Dependable, professional, great organizational skills.Strong attention to detail in all tasks.Good problem-solving skills.Ability to communicate effectively both in verbal and written form.Proficiency in data entry.Ability to protect confidential matters and data.Minimum Qualifications

  Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Adobe PDF, and the integration of these applications for preparing and enhancing text for word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.Experience with accounting software, Quickbooks preferredApplication of rules of formatting, grammar, punctuation, spelling, and usage to documents.Requires strong computer and Internet research skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, as well as government officials, outside clients, vendors, and members of the public.Bookkeeping experience is preferred. If no experience, a desire to learn is required.High school diploma or equivalentSupervision

  Works under the direction of the Financial Administrator following professional standards, procedures, and policies.Works well independently and in combination with others.Work Environment

  Standard office environment with occasional out-of-office work.Flexible hours and potential work from home hours with permission from the Financial Administrator and Executive Director.Certificates and Licenses

  Current valid Drivers License and access to a vehicleWage range

  $23 to $25 per hour for 18-20 hours per week. Pro-rated sick and vacation time are provided.
