　　NATURE OF WORKThe Parks Maintenance Technician II will work with a team of other Parks,Recreation & Culture employees. This is the intermediate-level class in theParks Maintenance Technician series. As a member of the Parks, Recreation& Culture Division, the Parks Maintenance Technician II performssemi-skilled and skilled tasks in all phases of parks, cemetery, openspace, trails, and sports field maintenance. Duties include but are notlimited to, grounds, sports fields and sports complexes right of way,facility maintenance, facility, and landscape construction,irrigation, special event, and facility rental support, cleaningshelters, restrooms, and hardscapes, mowing and hand-picking trash inall areas with focus on highly visible areas like public entrances to parksand facilities, parking lots, landscape areas adjacent to buildings. Thisposition also performs event support services and snow and icecontrol/removal duties for Town buildings, parking lots, trails, and parks.

　　SUPERVISION RECEIVEDIndividuals work in conjunction with park maintenance technicians all of whomare under the direct supervision of the Parks Supervisor to carry out assignedduties, functions, roles, and projects in both routine and complexcircumstances.

　　ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSThe individual in the Parks Maintenance Technician II role is assignedspecific assignments, job duties, scope, authority, responsibility,roles, and requirements as determined by the Town, department,division, and pursuant to laws, regulations and practices. Individuals inthis position must be able to successfully perform, be responsible for,and/or assist in the fulfillment of many job functions and duties with orwithout reasonable accommodations.

　　The following duties and responsibilities are illustrative of the primaryfunctions of this position and are not intended to be all-inclusive:

　　Assists with maintenance and repairs on sprinkler irrigation systems;installs or assists in installation of new sprinkler systems.Safely operates construction and maintenance equipment such as pickuptrucks, dump trucks, tractors, water trailers, riding mowers, handmowers, front loaders, backhoes, tillers, aerators, snow blowers,sprayers, spreaders, weed trimmers, pruning tools, trenchers,grinders and hand-held tools for the appropriate projects.Plows, shovels, and removes snow to provide useable citizen areas duringinclement weather, using a snow blower, shovel, hand tools, etc.Performs related duties as established by law/ ordinance or reasonablydirected by the Town.Maintains a variety of records relating to maintenance, construction, andinspection of parks systems (parks, cemetery, open spaces, etc.).Maintains operations resources and equipment in regard to inventory controland resource allocation. Ensures equipment is maintained per fleet policy.Completes and submits daily work reports, work orders, and payrolltimesheets in an accurate and timely manner.Assists in preparations and setup for Town-wide and department special eventswhich may require flexed scheduling and working on holidays.Accepts new work assignments and schedules work hours to meet the needs of theorganization.Cooperates with co-workers, supervisor and other departments to foster thespirit of a team environment.Communicates ideas clearly and respectfully in order to improve processes.Understands written and verbal assignments, and asks questions if needed.Keeps supervisor apprised of issues and concerns within the organization.Accepts const uctive input and implements suggestions for improvement.Applies chemicals, fertilizers, and other hazardous materials followingall safety precautions.Promotes a culture of safety in the workplace and reports safety hazards whenobserved.Provide courteous customer service; respond to questions and inquiries fromthe general public.Participate in a wide variety of assigned maintenance duties on parks andfacilities including repair and installation of irrigation sprinkler heads,lines, and controllers.Perform equipment repair, adjustments, and lubrication. Participate in theconstruction, maintenance and renovation of town park s facilities.Clean shelters and restrooms as needed and perform plumbing repairs as needed.

　　Plant and maintain shrubs, flowers, turf, and landscaped areas.Maintain grounds for municipal buildings and parking lots.Work alone or as a member of a crew. Assist in snow removal operations.Accept on-call assignments as needed.

　　EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND FORMAL TRAINING

　　Two (2) years of experience as a Parks Maintenance Technician I for theTown of Windsor; orThree (3) years of previous ground maintenance experienceThree (3) years of experience driving a truck, tractor or dump truckEquivalent combination of training and experience that provides evidence thatthe applicant possesses the required knowledge, skills, and abilities toperform the essential functions of the job.LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES:Must have and maintain a current Colorado Class B Commercial Driver's
