Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties related to theproduction of beans, hay, potatoes, sugar beets, wheat and livestock.Consultants please conduct a seated interview. Dates of need are03/15/2024-11/15/2024. This order is for work in the Mini-Cassia area.Applicant `MUST HAVE` 20 days experience as a general farmworker/irrigator/livestock worker and the name and number of thereference who has first hand knowledge and can verify the workersexperience. Job Duties may require a split shift, such as 5:30 to 9:30AM and 4:00 to 8:00 PM Lifting requirement of 100 lbs General Farm Workwill include the following responsibilities: maintain, drive, attach andoperate farm implements/tractors/equipment to till soil, plant,cultivate, fertilize and harvest crops; make minor mechanicaladjustments and repairs on farm machinery; may mix and/or spraychemicals (according to appropriate restrictive use laws, when/ifapplicable); remove undesirable and excess growth from crops or farmgrounds; paint/repair farm structures; replace/repair fencing; performgeneral clean up of farm areas; remove weeds from crops or farm grounds;drive, load/unload trucks; operate motor bike or all-terrain vehicle inthe course of performing duties. Irrigation duties will include thefollowing: Hand lines: connect pipes; check alignment of pipe and adjustfor proper water distribution; attach lines to water supply; turn onpump; turn valves to start flow of water; disassemble lines and carrypipes across fields at specified intervals; move pipes through freshlyirrigated crops and/or plowed fields where mud may be deep at times;lift and carry pipe sections weighing approximately 40 pounds on asustained basis. Wheel lines: start gasoline engines and operatecontrols to move lines across fields at specified intervals. Pivots:push on switch that activates circle sprinkler system;maintenance/repair tires/gear boxes. Flood Irrigation: lift gate in sideof flooded irrigation ditch/pipe permitting water to flow into borderedsection of field; shovel and pack dirt in low spots of embankment or cuttrenches in high areas to direct water flow; close gate in ditch/pipewhen ordered section is flooded; open gate or connect pipe tounderground pipe system that releases water flow into reservoir orditch; siphon water from flooded reservoir or ditch to channel waterinto designated areas; shovel or hoe soil to clear ditches/furrows andbuild embankments to appropriately channel water; mix and apply propersolutions to fill holes/cracks in pipes, ditches, and spillways, andmake minor repairs to metal, concrete, and wooden frameworks in pipe andditch valves and gates. Other Irrigation Duties: remove pipes/wheellines from storage and lay out/place in predetermined patterns infields; lubricate, adjust, repair and replace parts such as sprinklerheads and drive chains using hand tools; observe revolving sprinklersand adjust to ensure proper operation and uniform distribution of water;disassemble, service and store pipes/mainlines/wheel lines afterirrigation season. To meet minimum acceptable performance standards whenirrigating, the worker must, after a 10 day conditioning period, move anaverage of at least 48 40-foot sections of 3-inch pipe or 44 40-footsections of 4-inch pipe per hour under normal working conditions. Dutiesrelated to the production of Livestock will include the following: checkphysical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock andapply the appropriate care; examine animals to detectillness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain or to determine deliverytime, assist in delivery; mix feed/additives and feed/water livestock;place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water;herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; c ean/disinfect livestockcorrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamplivestock; hoist/stack bales of hay onto wagon/truck.
