　　Job Description:

　　Provides patient care under the direction of a physician or licensed nurse including but not limited to IV/IO access, basic airway management, medication administration, and clinical documentation. Greets patients at night, assists with patient placement, and assists with patient flow initiatives and room turnover. Effectively interacts with the patient, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining high standards of professional care. Assists the RN in providing high quality care to the following patient populations: Infants, Adolescents, Young adult, Adult, Geriatrics, Cardiac/ Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI), Vascular, Hemodynamic Monitoring, Endocrine, Renal, Pulmonary.

　　Qualifications:

　　Required Skills, Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

　　Graduation from a national EMT-I/99 program

　　Maintains employment as a paramedic by a paid service.

　　Maintains valid licensure/certification/registration

　　Paramedic certification issued by the Iowa Dept. of Public Health and EMT-I certification issued by the Illinois Dept. of Public Health

　　Maintains current and active status on all required training and education as outlined by corporate policy.

　　Desired Skills, Education and Experience

　　Critical care experience preferred.

　　Critical Care Paramedic Licensure preferred.
