Performs selected ordered interventions and diagnostic procedures, maintaining a septic/sterile technique as appropriate:Diagnostic procedures-12 lead EKG, Rhythm strip, Bedside glucose test/ISTAT, Cardiac monitoring, Zoll pad placement, Pulse Oximetry reading and monitoringInterventions- Cervical collar and spinal stabilization, Orthopedic dressing-clavicle strap, cervical collars, slings, ACE wraps, knee immobilizer, Fits crutches and teaches crutch walking, Administers oxygen therapy, Positions/Holds for procedures, Performs oral suctioning, Cleans wounds and non-sterile dressings, Performs phlebotomy, Initiates peripheral intravenous therapy in accordance with NCH and Emergency Services Policy, Operates IV pump and/or manually regulates infusion of 0.9NS or Lactated Ringers Solution, Instills saline for peripheral locks in accordance to policy, Performs basic life support measures, bag valve ventilation for intubated and non-intubated patients, Performs CPR, Ear irrigations, Visual Acuity2. Responsible for performing basic supportive care to specified patients/families under the direction and supervision of an RN/Care Manager. Collects, documents, and reports data to the RN. Demonstrates competence in providing age-appropriate care and service for pediatric patients from birth to 21 years, and selected adults. a. Utilizes clinical judgement, reports change b.
