　　Paralegal in the Office of the Attorney General, Full Time

　　Salary DOE: $69,400 - $75,000. 　　Primary Duties: The Paralegal will be assigned to the Special Prosecutions Unit in the Criminal Law Division. The Special Prosecutions Unit handles cases involving public corruption, internet crimes against children, and insurance fraud, as well as a variety of felony cases referred to the Special Prosecutions Unit by county prosecuting attorneys. The Paralegal’s primary duties include managing all aspects of discovery, drafting legal documents, and preparing for and assisting at trial. The Paralegal will also support attorneys by proofreading and cite checking briefs; drafting, finalizing, and filing pleadings; and conducting legal research. Work is performed under the supervision of the Lead Deputy Attorney General for the Special Prosecutions Unit.

　　Requirements/Minimum Qualifications: Must have a paralegal certificate or training and experience commensurate with the position. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Must be able to manage a heavy caseload and competing deadlines with minimal supervision. Experience with criminal law preferred but not required. Enthusiasm for public service is essential. Must successfully complete a criminal background check.
