Description

Established law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join their team in Oakland, California. The selected candidate will provide comprehensive litigation paralegal support to a reputable construction litigation team. This role primarily involves case management from inception to post-trial, drafting and reviewing legal documents, managing case documents, and assisting with document review and deposition preparation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee case management from inception through trial/settlement and post-trial/post-settlement

• Draft, review, and revise legal documents and cite-check briefs

• Manage hard copy and electronic case documents, including updating discovery logs and indices

• Assist with document review and develop expertise in the use of e-discovery technology and document review tools

• Support and manage document productions

• Assist with deposition and hearing preparation, including identifying and gathering exhibit documents and creating witness outlines

• Perform litigation support duties such as Bates stamping exhibits, preparing spreadsheets, reviewing litigation dockets, and ensuring dates are calendared correctly

• Draft and arrange for service of subpoenas and obtain case-related documents informally from third parties

• Coordinate with vendors for litigation support services

• Monitor pending decisions and conduct legal research

• Work closely with attorneys and team members, providing excellent customer support

• Be able to work in a professional office environment, as well as effectively work remotely if required

• Travel as required for case support

• Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual on-site attendance.

This role requires proficiency in Case Management Software, Billing Functions, Civil Litigation Experience, Ediscovery, and Concordance.

Requirements

• Proficiency in using Case Management Software is essential

• Must have previous experience in handling Billing Functions

• Knowledge of Construction Law is required

• Civil Litigation Experience is mandatory

• Familiarity with Ediscovery is needed

• Experience with Relativity and Concordance software is a plus
