The position of Packaging Technician IV, is considered an entry level position for the ACSC factory packaging & warehouse department and a Packaging Technician Program. Individuals in this position must safely perform basic equipment care, basic mobile equipment, operate industrial packaging lines while providing packaging equipment support. The technician performs sanitation and dust abatement duties and completes food safety inspections and documentation. The technician is also required to understand equipment operating principles and fundamentals. Principle accountabilities include but are not limited to: Responsible for packaging of sugar, including machine operations, proper coding, case packaging, palletizing, quality checks, SPC weighing/charting and sanitation procedures. Complies with all current food safety/food quality/HACCP, and GMPs. Assures Regulatory Compliance with FDA and Department of Commerce. Check packaging to make sure all packaged products are properly coded. Provide palletizer/wrapper and sugar screening support and stock bags for continuous packaging line operation. Operate remelt, dust collection, reclaim and production toting stations. Comply with federal, state, company and factory safety requirements. Comply with federal, state and company quality standards/policies. Operate packaging equipment using control systems and perform basic troubleshooting. Identify product or packaging issues resulting from operational issues. Be a team player who demonstrates initiative and a professional work ethic. Be able to work overtime as required and perform other duties as assigned.
