Minimum/Required Qualifications Master\'s degree (thesis-based) in foodscience and technology and/or microbiology. 2 years of experienceworking in a microbiology laboratory environment. Experience with avariety of microorganisms and diverse microbiological techniques.Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information effectivelyorally and in writing. Demonstrated ability to work as part of a teamand show a willingness to promote teamwork. Demonstrable commitment topromoting and enhancing diversity. Position Duties 65% Lead andfacilitate day-to-day operations and laboratory management of the foodsafety and quality systems program. 15% Instruct lab members onlaboratory safety, including biosafety protocols, and maintainingcompliance with university laboratory training requirements andassociated documentation. 10% Contributing to writing up study findingsto be included in reports published in journals and/or presented atscientific conferences. 5% Developing budgets for projects and createproject proposals. 5% Professional development such as: Attendprofessional conferences and workshops to improve skills, expandknowledge, remain current with changing technology and network withothers in the profession.
