The Division of Medicaid is seeking a highly skilled and experiencedProject Portfolio Managerto oversee our project portfolio, ensuring alignment with our business strategy and objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:
Direct a team of Project Managers for the Division of Medicaid, including direct supervision of project managers.
Develop and implement portfolio management processes and policies.
Oversee the project selection and prioritization process.
Coordinate and align project goals with DHW's strategic objectives.
Manage resource allocation across the portfolio, ensuring optimal utilization.
Monitor and report on portfolio performance, including project status, risks, and financial metrics.
Facilitate communication and collaboration among project managers and stakeholders.
Lead portfolio review meetings and provide decision support to senior management.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives within the portfolio management framework.
Mentor and guide project managers and teams.
PMP, PgMP, or other relevant certifications are highly desirable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position. Experience managing staff.
Experience managing major projects including development of project scope, goals, work plans, timelines, and implementation strategies.
Experience developing measurement processes/methods for assessing progress toward goals and project outcomes.
Experience preparing and presenting oral presentations to groups.
Experience developing and monitoring contacts.
Experience above typically requires at least one year of experience with responsibility for all the essential elements of management, plus responsibility for two or more major projects. Experience should include work or volunteer experience with responsibility for preparing and making presentations to groups and approximately two years of professional experience developing contract conditions and monitoring them for compliance.
Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.
Experience forming, facilitating, and coordinating cross functional groups of business and technical stakeholders for completing projects.Gained by at least two years of experience where forming, facilitating, and leading cross functional groups of business and technical stakeholders to achieve objectives were primary responsibilities.
Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
