  This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

  DUTIES

  This position will provide adult vaccines in the Refugee Health Clinic at the Florida Department of Health in Broward County. This position reports directly to the Assistant Community Health Nursing Director. Independently assesses vaccine schedule and administers age-appropriate vaccines in the Refugee Health clinics and outreach events for adults. Provide client education and dissemination of information promoting immunizations and Refugee Health. Order labs and obtain health history for clients. Work in the lab performing phlebotomy as needed.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  Willing to work before, during and/or beyond normal work hours, or days in the event of an emergency? Additionally, emergency duties are inclusive of working in Special Needs Shelters, or performing other emergency duties, but not l limited to responses to or threats involving any disaster, man-made or natural.

  Licensure as a Practical Nurse (LPN) in accordance with Chapter 464, Florida Statutes or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27.

  Current LPN licensure in the State of Florida

  SIX (6) months of nursing practice as an LPN working in a Public Health clinic, Skilled Nursing Facility or hospital care delivery system, or physician's office

  Proficient in the administration of injectable medications or vaccines for adults or children.
