This is an OPS (Other Personal Services) positions and as such no paid time off is offered. Health benefits will be offered for full-time employment. OPS employees are eligible to participate in a deferred compensation plan.

DESCRIPTION
This is a grant funded position assigned to the Florida Department of Health in Broward County under the direct supervision of the program manager of Opioid Prevention in Community Health. The Hospital Coordinator will work closely with the peers; clinical, medical, MAT program and case management, ensuring patients are provided appropriate serves to assist with recovery and wellness.
Broward County's 16 acute care hospital emergency departments and 4 freestanding emergency departments will participate in the enhancements to ESSENCE surveillance. The Hospital Coordinator will provide ongoing education to Emergency Departments on ESSENCE enhancements.
The Hospital Coordinator will be working with Peer Recovery Specialists (PRSs) and Peers Supervisors located in various community settings.
The Hospital Coordinator will track and monitor daily the progress of linkage to and retention in care strategy which is part of the opioid prevention program.
The Hospital Coordinator will review the peer recovery specialists' daily and monthly tracking sheets and reports submitted via the Department' reporting portal, monitor all contracted peers' productivity and performance, and identify barriers and challenges the peers are encountering, and report updates to the OD2A - L Program Manager.
The Hospital Coordinator will provide ongoing education to peer recovery specialists (PRSs) and superiors utilizing the Department's Reporting Portal and ensure accurate data entry and reporting processes.
The Hospital Coordinator will maintain continuous rapport with all contracted peers and peers' supervisors in various community institutions by setting regular monthly meetings and site visits.
Set and attend regular monthly meetings with peer specialists' supervisors located at all participating sites, to monitor the process, identify gaps and challenges, and provide support as needed.
The Hospital Coordinator will assist in research and incorporate promising ED practices such as prescribing and/or dispensing naloxone to individuals at risk of opioid overdose and their friends and family and increase the awareness, possession, and use of naloxone among at risk of opioid overdose populations and broader communities.
The Hospital Coordinator will track the linkage to care strategy's performance and report updates regularly to program manager.
The Hospital Coordinator will monitor post overdose procedures at contracted institutions.
Develop networks with external stakeholders and services providers to increase access to community-based resources.
Attend and represent DOH-Broward at local, state, and federal meetings.
The Hospital Coordinator will directly be reporting to the OD2A - Local Program Manager as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Willing to work before, during a d/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency? Emergency duty required of the incumbent includes working in special needs shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but notlimited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.Experience as a Hospital Administrator or Emergency Department Administrator in a hospital or Emergency Department Nurse ManagerA bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with major study in human services administration, psychology, sociology, public health administration, nursing, social work, or related field.Valid FL driver's license free of major infractions, and access to a reliable automobile to be utilized for work purposes as well as a willingness and ability to drive emergency vehicles.Preferred Qualification:
