Your Specific Responsibilities:
Perform site and necessary follow-up inspections of regulated Public Swimming Pools and Bathing Places and assist other staff as needed to ensure compliance with Chapter 514 Florida Statutes and Chapter 64E-9 Florida Administrative Code and verifies approved design, construction, and operational requirements are met. Prepare written reports and provides routine correspondence as necessary to meet program objectives.
Investigate animal bite reports in accordance with the most current Rabies Prevention and Control guidebook and Compendium of Animal Rabies Prevention and Control. Use discretion and independent judgement to ensure investigations, including proper animal quarantine. Human PEP recommendations, and animal specimen collections are timely and necessary. Prepare biological specimens as necessary for shipment to the designated state laboratory in accordance with established protocol for analyses. Investigate sanitary nuisance complaints to ensure compliance and conformity with Chapter 386 Florida Statutes.
Perform site and necessary follow-up inspections of regulated Group Care Facilities under Department of Health jurisdiction to ensure compliance with Chapter 381, Florida Statutes, Chapter 64E-12 of the Florida Administrative Code, and Chapter 6A-2 Florida Administrative Code. Prepare written reports and routine correspondence as necessary to meet program objectives.
Perform site and necessary follow-up inspections as well as conduct environmental reviews of regulated Tattooing facilities and assist other staff as needed to ensure compliance with Chapter 381 Florida Statutes and Chapter 64E-28 Florida Administrative Code for all aspects of the Tattooing Program. Perform site and necessary follow-up inspections as well as conduct environmental reviews of regulated Body Piercing facilities and assist other staff as needed to ensure compliance with Chapter 381 Florida Statutes and Chapter 64E-19 Florida Administrative Code for all aspects of the Body Piercing Program. Perform site and necessary follow-up inspections as well as conduct environmental reviews of regulated Migrant Labor Camps and Residential Migrant Housing and assist other staff as needed to ensure compliance with Chapter 381 Florida Statutes and Chapter 64E-14 Florida Administrative Code for all aspects of the Migrant Farmworker Housing Program.
Perform site and necessary follow-up inspections of regulated Recreation Vehicle / Mobile Home Parks and assist other staff as needed to ensure compliance with Chapter 513 Florida Statutes and Chapter 64E-15 Florida Administrative Code and verify approved design, construction, and operational requirements are met. Prepare written reports and provides routine correspondence as necessary to meet program objective.
Help sample Limited Use Public wells and Private wells that owners have elected to have the county health department (CHD) perform. This fee per service may involve bacteriological, Lead, and Nitrate sampling. Prepare written reports and routine correspondence as necessary.
Investigates sanitary nuisance complaints to help ensure conformity with Chapter 386 Florida Statutes.
Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned to carry out the total Environmental Health program.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data to develop alternative recommendations, solve problems, and document workflow relating to the improvement of the operation and management practices.

Ability to understand and apply rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to the operation and management of the county health Department.
