Ophthalmology Technician - Busy Eye Care Office.
Practice sees approximately 50 patients per day.
Office uses Eye Medic software.
Responsibilities:
Test and measure eye function to assist the Ophthalmologist in the treatment of eye care disorders and disease.
Record medical history, current medications and other data into EMR
Test patients' field of vision, including central and peripheral vision, for defects.
Examines eye, using slit lamp, for abnormalities of cornea, and anterior and posterior chambers.
Applies drops to anesthetize, dilate, or medicate eyes.
Measures intraocular pressure of eyes.
Measure axial length of eye, using ultrasound equipment.
Performs other tests and measurements as requested by physician.
Gives instructions to patients regarding eye care.
Skills needed:
Knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms and ocular medications
Experience with Electronic medical records.
Ability to interact effectively and supportively with people of all backgrounds.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience needed:
Minimum of 1 year experience as a Technician in Eye Care.
M-T-TH-F: 9am-6pm
Every other Wed: 9am-1pm
Sept.-June: Saturdays: 7: 45am-1 : 00pm .
No Saturdays in the summer.
