  What’s a typical day as an SMT Operator? You’ll be:

  • Picking components and preparing kits for manufacturing.

  • Setting up and operating automated SMT assembly equipment including Screen Printer, Glue Dispensing Machine, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.

  • Tracking machine performance and effectively communicating with management as problems arise.

  • Interpreting blueprints and work instructions to ensure product quality.

  • Responsible for accessing company procedures and navigating shop floor controls.

  • Utilizing a manual, semi-automatic or automatic solder paste stencil machine.

  • Following practices to ensure ISO standards are being met.

  • Replacing damage, missing, misplace and wrong used/mount resistors and capacitors and other different components.

  • Mounting components such as transformers, resistors, capacitors, integrate circuits and sockets on panel or print circuit board.

  • Providing preventive maintenance, diagnosing, and troubleshooting problems to increase company productivity.

  • Performing all other duties as assigned.

  This job might be an outstanding fit if you:

  • Are familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.

  • Are able to properly clean boards.

  • Are able to perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components.

  • Are able to perform visual inspections of SMT assemblies.

  • Are able to interpret IPC standards for acceptability and customer specifications.

  • Are familiar with and able to use hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.

  • Can perform house-keeping duties to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

  • Can professionally and effectively communicate both verbally and written with coworkers and management.

  • Are a self-starter with good organizational skills and analytical skills.

  • Have a High School Diploma.

  • Have 3-5 years of experience as an SMT Operator (preferred).

  • Have a valid IPC Certification or previously certified (preferred).
