Custodian

　　The individual in this position is responsible for maintaining a clean working environment for all staff and visitors. This individual performs custodial work in offices, warehouses, industrial areas, and other building interiors. He or she is responsible for completing daily, weekly and special cleaning tasks.

　　DUTIES AND RESPONSIBIITIES:

　　Clean, mop, wash, vacuum, and polish floors using brooms, mops, vacuum cleaners, and buffing machines.Empty trash cans, replace liners and transport contents to dumpster. Remove refuse from buildings and office areas daily, ensuring that trash receptacles are empty and clean. Collect and dispose of trash in dumpsters as needed.Service, clean and sanitize restrooms. Resupply restroom supplies daily.Service, clean and sanitize lunchrooms and break areas. Resupply utensils and condiment supplies.Clean, dust and polish furniture, fixtures, walls and doors.Occasionally assist in the removal ice and snow from pedestrian walkways seasonally, as required.Observe the appearance and condition of premises and janitorial equipment and report needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions to the Facilities Maintenance/Safety Supervisor.Empties and maintains recycling containers. Break down cardboard boxes and place in recycling containers which are located outside.SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
