This position assigns work, recommends improvements in production methods and operating procedures. Ensures quality and safety practices are met.Essential Duties:Assists supervisor in the planning, scheduling and completion of all tasks related to his/her departmentEnforces safety rules and conducts safety inspections of area of responsibility.Knowing proper procedures for workers to follow and ensuring they complyCoordinates with production planners and supervision to insure timely completion of production ordersResponsible for pulling data from SAP and reporting production metricsReports out on status of department each morning during the Tier 1 meetingAssists Supervisor with timekeeping by verifying accuracy of clock punches and reconciling time-clock exceptionsRecommends improvements to production methods, equipment layout, and product flow.Monitors productivity and measures against standardsCommunicates production challenges to appropriate leader.Takes action as needed to resolve issues so that production goals are metEstimates, requisitions, and inspects materials needed in the departmentResponsible for 5SProvides feedback to supervision in relation to employees' safety habits, productivity, and adherence to shop rulesAccurately reports shop floor production data via computer terminal and/or written reportingFollows visual and written work instructions to complete assigned tasks within set time allottedPerforms cycle counting of parts and material handling duties as prescribed by SupervisorAble to check parts to engineering drawings using precision measuring equipmentSupports, communicates, reinforces, and defends the mission, values, and culture of the organizationAdheres to all quality and safety standardsSupports other projects and performs duties as assignedEducation/Experience/Other Skills & Abilities:High School diploma or GED required; Associates or Bachelor's degree in business or related field a plusMinimum of five years of relevant leadership and experience in a manufacturing facilityAbility to work from verbal and written instructionsDemonstrated leadership and coaching/mentoring abilityAdvanced knowledge of technical or complex production processes and equipment within assigned areaOperation of small power tools, other hand tools, computerized and high-pressure equipmentGoal oriented and team focused to ensure completion of projects in a timely mannerTrack record of positive attendanceMust have excellent organizational skillsMust be highly self-motivated, customer centric with proven leadership abilityDemonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize many different projects and workloadPossesses computer skills with demonstrated proficiency in standard business software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office)SAP experience a plusDisclaimer: This job description is not designed to be a complete list of all duties and responsibilities required for this role.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or app
