Job Summary The Operations Supervisor manages internalresources, external contracted resources and businessapplications/processes based on the need of the business unit. Thisincludes (but not limited to) supervisory tasks in Electric Operationsrelated to construction, design, planning, and scheduling for WeEnergies electric transmission and distribution systems. The OperationsSupervisor is responsible for overseeing the construction or maintenanceactivities related to the company\'s transmission and distributioninfrastructure within an assigned area. Operations Supervisor ensuresthat all customers\' needs are met in a safe, efficient and timelymanner through the effective management/utilization of personnel,equipment, and materials. Their first concern is to ensure the safety ofemployees, customers, and contractors during all work applications. TheOperations Supervisor may be rotated to other work areas/functionswithin Customer Operations in order to address workload demands, gainvaluable experience, and to develop an understanding and appreciationfor other parts of the organization. Job Responsibilities In addition,this position is responsible for: Training, coaching, counseling,development and discipline of personnel within their respective businessunit. Coordinating and communicating across several work groups and hasthe major responsibility for storm/emergency service restorationactivities within the operating service area they are assigned.Representing We Energies in contacts with the customer, the generalpublic, municipalities, cities, townships, contractors, and theiremployees; they use negotiation skills to resolve conflicts, engagementskills to build networks to enhance good working relationships.Availability for emergency call-outs. Minimum Experience Required Fiveto 10 years experience in a distribution/construction operations tradeand/or five to 10 years experience in supervision of direct reports. AnOperations Supervisor should have a good working knowledge of unioncontracts and employee relationship building. Strong communication andorganizational skills are a benefit.
