About Operations Project Manager

  The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Operations Services Division. The Operations Project Manager (OPM) is responsible for managing multiple and complex projects for the department. The OPM is responsible for managing multiple projects concurrently, ensuring that project plans are effectively implemented and executed. This position will work on projects related to operations functions aimed at improving operational efficiency that will include, designing business protocol space planning as it pertains to capital complex and other lease arrangements across the state and other remote of office workplace planning for DPHHS. Other projects related to operational efficiency for the DPHHS workforce will be assigned as needed. Other responsibilities include: 1) Designs work breakdown structures and related documents such as department-wide change implementation plans, communications plans and status up-dates; 2) Determine project goals and identify project scope within broad parameters provided by and in coordination with upper management and the Operations Services and Business and Financial Services Division and make detailed plans to accomplish these goals; This position acts on behalf and at the request of the Chief Financial and Operations Officer in directing assignments and workstreams. * * Why Join DPHHS * * Our mission at DPHHS is to serve Montanans in their communities to improve and protect the health, safety, and well-being, and to empower independence. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity * * * Experience in state leasing laws and policies. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both orally and in writing. * Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. * Skill in public speaking. * Ability to analyze information and evaluate the results to develop an action plan. * Meet minimum qualifications: o Bachelor’s degree in communication, writing, organizational development, business administration or related field. o Fiveyears of combined job-related work experience in communicating, facilitating, and directing/managing projects. o Experience working with policy development and/or organizational change preferred.* o Other combinations of related education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.* * * How to Apply To be considered for a DPHHS position, submit the following required documents with your application on the State of Montana Careers website. Additional Information This position may be eligible for partial telework within the state of Montana. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy. This position may be eligible for a statutory $1.50 an hour base pay increase effective July 1, 2024.
