About Operations Manager

  Kforce has a client that is seeking an Operations Manager in Torrance, CA.Overview:We have a hands-on Operations Manager (electro-mechanical) position for one of our clients in the Torrance, CA area. This is a small startup who is backed by Angel and VC investors who share the passion in revolutionizing the quality of life as we age. As the foundational early member of the team, you will have the opportunity to grow professionally with our client. We are working directly with the hiring manager on this exclusive search assignment.The Operations Manager will lead and execute the broad scope of operational responsibilities necessary to launch innovative products on time, within budget. Areas of responsibility include procurement, supplier selection and qualification, demand planning, logistics, order fulfillment, and Quality Management System development. The Operations Manager will begin as an individual contributor role. As the business grows you will participate in designing the necessary structure and then in hiring and leading subsequent members of the Operations Team. This is a full-time direct hire role located in Torrance, CA. Our client provides unlimited PTO and solid benefits.Responsibilities:

  Be the principal day to day contact for vendors and manufacturing partners; Manage supplier performance, costs

  Execute day to day procurement for both direct materials and other purchasing requirements

  Develop the product demand and capacity plan in conjunction with stakeholders including sales, finance and external manufacturing and logistics partners

  With Finance and Sales teams develop the quote-to-cash and procure-to-pay processes necessary to support company needs

  Efficiently convert high level objectives into actionable plans that support the movement through the product lifecycle from engineering development to running production

  A.S. or B.S. in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, or Engineering or Equivalent work experience

  At least 4-5 years of experience working in product, supply chain, and operations in an ISO 9001 or ISO 13485, FDA compliant or other highly regulated environment (Will consider candidates from other regulated industries including Aerospace, Consumer Electronics, Medical Device, Biotechnology, Electronic Manufacturing, etc.)

  Experience and knowledge in areas such as procurement, supplier selection and qualification, demand planning, logistics, order fulfillment, and Quality Management System development and execution

  Experience in an electro-mechanical, or electronic or mechanical manufacturing/assembly environment is required

  High energy, biased for action and with a proactive communications style

  Structured problem-solving skills that effectively and quickly get to the root of complex problems and lead to viable solutions

  Able to evaluate different manufacturing processes including manual or automated assembly processes, CNC machining, casting, molding, PCBA fabrication, etc.

  Ability to work cross-functionally and independently in a Design and Manufacturing environment

  Willingness to travel to meet with suppliers occasionally to support company success

  Start-up or rapid business growth experience preferred; Equivalent experience in any branch of the military may qualify if directly applicable

  The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

  We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

  Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.

  This job is not eligible for bonuses, incentives or commissions.
