The Operating Technician - Hybrid Electrical is a core component for our workforce as one of the world's largest steel producers. This position is responsible for operating equipment and performing maintenance tasks that support the various production units.

  Primary Responsibilities:

  Installs, maintains and repairs a broad range of mechanical/electrical systems and equipment including drives, PLC's drives, motor controls and DC boards.

  Must be able to troubleshoot and repair operating systems and equipment.Must be capable of wiring and installing electrical equipment.

  Operates equipment in conjunction with repairs and provides assistance in operating functions as necessary to maintain continuous operations.

  May work alone with minimal supervision or other maintenance technicians.

  Requirements:

  Must pass a written electrical assessment test at a Level 4

  HS or GED Required

  Minimum of 1 year of working experience or formal education in the following areas: print reading, transformers, motor controls, PLC's drives, DC boards, wiring, and troubleshooting.

  Rotating shifts, which will include Saturdays and Sundays.

  Work overtime as needed.

  Adherence to safety procedures/guidelines at all times.

  Safety is our core value which requires you to wear safety protection such as hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and boots with metatarsal protection. Working at heights between ground level and up to over 100' with OHSA approved safety harnesses; respirator usage (FIT testing); and confined space entry may also be required.

  Punctuality and attendance are extremely important to the success of the operations in general as well as contributing to an overall positive team atmosphere.

  Work Environment:

  The job is within an industrial environment, and you may be required to work within various areas. Dependent upon the area you will work in, the environmental conditions can be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy.

  Additionally, safety is a core value and safety procedures/guidelines must be adhered to at all times.
