DescriptionPosition SummarySupports and assists operative teams with the daily flow of activities of the operating room (OR) and patient care by cleaning/disinfecting the operating room suites and related areas, transporting patients and equipment, stocking supplies, and performing other duties as assigned.Successful performance of this role helps UH provide safe, helpful and courteous care to patients and directly provides safe, helpful and courteous support services to operative teams.Initiates and performs tasks according to established guidelines:Essential FunctionsFacilitate the efficient turnover of operating rooms between cases and preparation for the following case.Transport patients, trays, blood gases, specimens and equipment.Support operative team with various requests while cases are in progress.Perform other duties as assigned.Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to enhance patient care and facilitate daily operations.Participate as a productive member of the OR Assistant team.Required For All JobsPerforms other duties as assigned.Complies with all policies and standards.For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients.
