Perhaps you've traveled to a new destination amazed by the unique structures piquing your curiosity of the meaning behind its existence. The Opus Group has an opportunity for you to explore this interest in depth through an internship offering insight into the development, architectural design and construction efforts that go into creating impactful structures all over the country. This Internship is created for those with a genuine interest to learn more about architecture, development and construction while creating or expanding their skills in these areas. Work alongside architects, project managers and development managers to acquire knowledge in all facets of the industry through a 3-week rotation in each area of expertise, gaining exposure to top industry leaders. No previous experience or commitment to real estate, architecture or construction required, simply an interest to learn more about the industry. Below is an outline of the 10-week program and what to expect. This is a paid internship for the duration of 10 weeks at $17/hour, with a stipend for transportation and living expenses available. Interns can expect to work 32-40 hours per week, typically between the hours of 8 and 5, Monday through Friday. The program will run from June 10th through August 16th. (subject to change based on intern's school schedule). The interns will work out of our Minnetonka, MN corporate headquarters location. Responsibilities: Real Estate Development During the development segment of the internship, interns will experience various components of the development process firsthand; from site acquisition and understanding capital structure formation, all the way through the design and construction process and ultimately the leasing and sale of the asset. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with various partners involved in projects including municipalities, consultants, attorneys, design and construction teams, capital markets and many others. Architecture and Design The Architecture and Design rotation lends interns the ability to learn from all phases and aspects of the architectural process, including client relations, site research and planning, code research and documentation, and drawing set development. In addition, intern positions will have the ability to support the development of building plans, elevations, interior layouts and elevations, virtual 3D views, and design graphics. Construction The construction portion of the internship will have the opportunity to assist with management of the construction and "activation" of assigned projects, ensuring project meets budget, schedule, quality, and customer satisfaction criteria. Interns will also be involved with reviewing drawings, budgets, schedules, and resolving problems in addition to assisting with other project-related matters. Interns will have the chance to strengthen their interpersonal skills through development of productive relationships with team and company personnel while learning to optimize team effectiveness and coordinating a project team. Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Plans to or is currently attending a 2-year technical school or is in the first 2 years of a 4-year program. Must be able to work on site in our Minnetonka, MN office location (housing/transportation stipend available).
