Job Description Summary
The O&M Mechanical Team Lead is responsible for managing a team that covers all aspects of Mechanical Maintenance on the plant to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.
Job Description
As Mechanical Team Lead you report to the Operation & Maintenance Leader and:
Provide leadership to the mechanical maintenance team in the day to day maintenance activities.
Develop, supervise and co-ordinate plant maintenance activities.
Assign general, preventive and corrective maintenance jobs to maintenance technicians
Execute work order through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and co-ordinate within the team for job completion and technical matters.
Plan and inspect completed work on plant equipment.
Maintain records, prepare reports and compose correspondence relative to work.
Acquire considerable knowledge of the process and the relevant Electrical and instrument & control systems throughout the plant and apply the same to trouble shoot problems and lead the maintenance team in resolving the issue. Promote development and succession management in Mechanical Section.
Train the subordinates on preventive and corrective maintenance.
Assist Operation & Maintenance Leader in planning and scheduling outage works with due regard to annual scheduled maintenance plan.
Assess plant needs for spare parts & supplies and generate material requisitions.
Co-ordinate with Stores and Procurement for inventory management.
Control plant inventory via the CMMS system
Acquire full knowledge of EHS policies & procedures and ensures compliance.
Evaluate, plan and actively participate in plant housekeeping.
Assist and co-ordinate with EHS Manager/Supervisor on all EHS activities including implementation of policies/procedures, inspections and audits.
Ensure compliance in all areas of Health, Safety and Environmental programs and procedures as applicable to the maintenance activities.
Develop training schedules/plans for the members in the team
Control all maintenance documents as outlined on the site Master List of Controlled Documents.
Communicate effectively with managers, peers and team fellows, both verbally and in writing
Available for emergency on call duties on power plant
Required Qualifications
Graduate Mechanical Engineer from an accredited College or University or equivalent experience
Major experience in an industrial environment with experience as team lead position in plant maintenance.
GE Aero Power Plant Experience is a benefit
Leadership and problem solving skills
Experience of costing, planning and managing plant outages
Prior experience with GE O&M in same capacity is preferred
Knowledge of GE products, services, and processes
Understanding of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) like Maximo Prior customer interface experience
Experience with external service suppliers
