　　The ideal candidate will have a Bachelors degree in Accounting with an active CPA certification (Masters Degree is preferred). Over eight years of experience in the field of accounting and Financial Reporting and/or utility industry (experience reporting for SEC companies and/or Public Accounting experience is preferred).

　　POSITION PURPOSE:

　　Primarily responsible for the preparation and analysis of all external financial reports issued by the Vice President and Controller. Official financial statements and reports are prepared to satisfy audit, financing, federal, Congressional, Administration and various regulatory reporting requirements. Serves as a subject matter expert on rules and regulations related to SEC and Federal filings.

　　JOB DIMENSIONS:

　　Supervisory Responsibility—Directs the work of the department, which currently consists of a program manager, three financial analysts and a financial systems specialist.

　　PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

　　Serves as the recognized TVA consultant and expert on all financial reporting matters affecting TVA.

　　Performs the function of consulting accountant responsible for providing technical accounting advice and guidance for all TVA organizations related to financial reporting.

　　Prepares or directs the preparation of all financial reports required by accounting principles and regulatory bodies.

　　Takes the lead role in coordinating with the external auditors, the OIG and various other regulatory audits or inquiries.

　　Directs the use of computer equipment, computer models and software required for external reporting.

　　Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

　　MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

　　Education— A Master’s degree with study in accounting, or equivalent experience in financial reporting combined with a bachelor’s degree, is required.

　　Experience— Requires extensive knowledge and over eight years of experience in the field of accounting and financial reporting for SEC reporting companies and/or utility industry. Big 4 experience is preferred. Supervisory experience required.

　　Certification/License, etc.— A CPA certification is required.

　　Knowledge/Skills/Abilities— Extensive experience in interpreting complex accounting concepts and conveying complex technical accounting ideas both orally and in written form as well as the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of TVA management and external parties. Strong interpersonal skills to establish required relationships with personnel at all levels. Strong presentation skills to provide training to TVA organizations on complex accounting and reporting. Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance based on position / access requirements and essential job functions.
