UC's annual budget tops $1.65 billion and its endowment totals $1.8 billion.Job OverviewServe as an Instructional Designer, working directly with Ohio's University Consortium for Child and Adult Services (OUCCAS) leadership and other stakeholders of the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP) and the Ohio Human Services Training System.Essential FunctionsServe on the Needs Assessment Review Committee to determine if submitted training requests meet a standard assessment of need.Isolate goal, audience, level of learning, and learning objectives needed to fulfill identified training needs.Collaborate with OUCCAS Content Team and Training Delivery Team to curate existing resources to address the need or to help identify subject matter experts who could help develop learning that addresses the training need.Work with independent contract trainers who are developing evidence-based training outlines that reflect best practices in protective services and learning science.Oversee large project involving the inventory of the existing LMS learning catalog. .For courses needing updates, help ensure the training is still required, and if it meets a current training need, work as a bridge between independent contract trainers -and other subject matter experts to update the learning objectives and outline according to a set of standards set by OUCCAS.Oversee and direct student workers and contract staff as needed.Maintain currency in learning science and professional development.Required EducationBachelor's Degree in a related field.Required ExperienceFive (5) years professional experience working with a Public Children Services Agency with at least two years as a supervisor.Knowledge of Ohio's child welfare practice models, policies and procedures.Professional experience with Ohio resources related to child welfare casework.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Strong project management skills.Ability to fully integrate learning science and best-practice training methods (including workshops, simulations, online learning, and coaching) into training curricula.Experienced with office productivity software and learning management systems.Additional Qualifications ConsideredBachelor's degree in instructional design.Experience in instructional design.Experience in project management.Excellent communication and leadership skills .Strong project management skills.Strong ability to apply learning science within instructional design.Physical Requirements/Work EnvironmentOffice environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.Compensation and BenefitsUC offers a wide array of complementary and affordable benefit options, to meet the financial, educational, health, and wellness needs of you and your family.
