The following opening exists within Adult Community Corrections, Region 1. Region 1 covers Cumberland and York Counties. There is flexibility in locating this position in any of our offices in these counties. We will work with the selected candidate to determine office location.
Adult Community Corrections, a part of the Maine Department of Corrections is destigmatizing corrections for the betterment of all Maine communities, is seeking an Office Associate II. With the ‘Maine Model of Corrections’, we promote the safety of our staff and residents while reducing barriers to meaningful rehabilitative opportunitiesWe facilitate restorative justice practices that equip justice-involved residents and clients with the skills they need to become contributing members of society upon release, including treatment, education, and job training. The ideal candidate must demonstrate:
Excellent customer service skills.
The ability to multitask.
Excellent time management.
Ability to understand and communicate difficult or complex matters.
Ability to use discretion with sensitive matters and material.
A comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Perform Data-Entry with accuracy.
Minimum qualifications:
Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex, varied office support tasks, and 2) the ability to use independent decision-making on the appropriate processes to follow, information to process, and actions to take in accordance with standard procedures. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, Office Assistant II, and Office Associate I.
Ability to:
Use applicable computer programs.
Review documents and examine for completeness.
Maintain computerized and/or manual information.
Post and transfer numbers from set data.
Prepare worksheets and perform data entry.
Process standard mail transactions.
Operate modern standard office equipment.
Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
