JOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/Objective: Functions as a working specialist providing employeesupport to ensure that Nutrition Services employees have the tools andresources necessary to be successful in their job roles. Performs operationalactivities including- employee training; meal prep supervision andevaluation; implementation of USDA regulations and food and employee safetypractices.
Essential Functions:50% of Job- Training - Develop and coordinate training and mentoring methodsto support Nutrition Services employees in all aspects of their kitchen work(with specific focus on newly hired employees). Set goals with individualemployees toward specific improvements. Plan, support and help implement allemployee training and engagement events for the department.30% of Job- Program Operations - Handle day-to-day operation questions fromkitchen staff. Understand, implement and monitorUSDA/state/local/district/departmentalregulations/policies/procedures for Child Nutrition Programs and otherprograms offered by the Nutrition Services Department. Maintains currentknowledge of nutrition related technology platforms and provides support withfunctions such as- ordering; inventory; meal production; and meal claiming.20% of Job- Communication & Collaboration - Works closely with NutritionArea Supervisors, Nutrition Resources Facilitator, and Nutrition Employee& Family Resources Specialist to ensure a solid system of support totrain, engage, and retain employees. Uses positive verbal and non-verbalskills at all times when working with district personnel and community members.
