  APPLYStudent and Campus Life (SCL) inspires transformation in all Cornell students on their journey of individual, academic and personal evolution. Our division is comprised of leading student affairs experts who support our campus on pressing student life matters including public service, health, wellness, social justice, residential living, food services, sports, recreation, career services, and student activities and organizations including sorority and fraternity life. We provide support and services to roughly 25,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students on multiple campuses in the U.S. and abroad.Cornell Wellness reports up to SCL through the Department of Athletics and Physical Education (A&PE). A&PE offers a diverse program of physical and outdoor education, recreational services, intramural sports and intercollegiate athletic competition, plus Wellness programs for faculty and staff and fitness centers for the entire Cornell community. Cornell Recreational Services is situated directly under the A&PE Department and offers a wide variety of fitness, wellness, sports and open recreation activities for Cornell students, staff, faculty, retirees and their spouses/partners. Through broad-based programs, Cornell Recreational Services promotes healthy and holistic lifestyles throughout the campus community.Cornell Wellness is a unit situated directly under the Recreational Services department umbrella, with additional dotted line reporting directly under HR's department of workforce wellbeing umbrella. Wellness staff are a dynamic team that as a whole provide educational opportunities to the Cornell community (staff, faculty, retirees, and their spouses/partners) that empower individuals to make healthy choices for themselves.

  The Nutrition and Health Outreach Specialist provides nutrition and general health education to the Cornell community on a variety of topics including but not limited to diabetes prevention, reducing risk of heart disease, and reducing blood pressure. Services are delivered in a multitude of ways, such as individual consultations, department and university wide lectures, workshops and/or demos, and general health awareness/prevention/maintenance campaigns. In addition, this position assists the Director of Wellness with communication and marketing efforts, as well as oversees several data collection, analysis, and reporting needs of the program. This position has a direct impact on the wellness of the entire Cornell community and is an essential part of the University's commitment to supporting the overall health and wellness of staff, faculty, and retirees who continually contribute in multiple ways towards the student experience.

  This position is an on-campus (Ithaca, NY) position with the possibility of working one day per week remotely. Typical workdays and hours are M-F 8am-4:30pm. Must occasionally (approx. 4-6x/yr) work evenings, early mornings, and weekends. This position is a 1-year fixed-term position; ability to extend the term is dependent on business need, continued funding and performance.

  The salary range for this position is $60,127 to $64,636. Final offer will depend on candidate education, experience, and relevant skills.

  Required Qualifications:

  Bachelor's degree with current registered dietician nutritionist credential.1 or more years of experience providing individual nutrition and general health consultations, creating customized nutrition education, recommendations, and eating plans.Demonstrated ability to design, develop, and deliver general health awareness, prevention, and maintenance campaigns to a diverse community.Experience delivering lectures and workshops on a variety of general health and nutrition topics to both small and large groups. Must be comfortable having these programs live streamed and recorded.Knowledge of current and emerging nutrition/health/wellness trends, and experience with staying up to date with trends, including discerning whether the trend is evidence based.Ability to create educational sound bites for social media, communications, and marketing purposes, as well as experience in other communication medias such as print, website, e-newsletter, etc.Ability to collect data, analyze data, create, and present reports.Proficiency with Outlook, Zoom, and the Microsoft Office Suite including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.CPR/AED/First Aid certification at start of employment, or within 60 days of start of employment.Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, anti-racism, and wellbeing.

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Nutrition coaching, wellness coaching, and fitness trainer certifications.Experience providing education-based food or cooking demonstrations to both small and large groups.Experience working in a university or college setting. Experience with Sharepoint, Google Docs, Registration databases, and Membership databases.
