JOB REQUIREMENTS: Position Purpose Ensures support for food servicedelivery in the Head Start classroom in the areas of food preparationand service, clean-up, and site sanitation. Essential JobResponsibilities Regular and consistent attendance is an essentialfunction of this position. General Nutrition Duties Maintains a safe andsanitary kitchen environment Washes and sanitizes dishes using properprocedures Meal service, including table setting and delivery of food totables Purchases food and supplies according to USDA requirements Storesfood and supplies appropriately Adapts meals for any special dietaryneeds Participates in monthly staff meetings Classroom Duties Assistswith staff breaks when short staffed (if qualified). Assists inpromoting a positive climate for learning. Encourages experimentation,exploration, problem solving, cooperation, socialization, and choicemaking; asks open-ended questions and listen respectfully to theanswers. Works to develop a collaborative approach that benefits allchildren in the classroom. Cleans and sanitizes classroom and equipmentas requested. Cleans bathrooms and hand washing areas as requested.Additional Job Responsibilities Responsible for completing andsubmitting required nutrition forms as scheduled. Assists in generalmaintenance and security of facility. Attends agency meetings,trainings, and professional development activities. Coordinates workschedule to meet program needs.
