  The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a Nurse Educator at our Dallas TX office. This position can be home-based within the DFW metroplex.

  The Nurse Educator provides health education and acts as an advisor to internal and external customers, including the general public, health care providers, donors and volunteers seeking health information.

  Responsibilities

  The Nurse Educator trains staff on medical issues related to heart and stroke issues. Training prepares staff to respond to customers seeking information on caregiving, as well as prevention. Responsibilities include:

  Managing of the Stroke Warmline team which connects stroke survivors and their families with staff who provide helpful information and support. In addition, this position selects, trains, and offers ongoing guidance for stroke patients and their care givers. This includes promptly responding to calls, email, chat, and social media inquiries.

  Creating and delivering ongoing training resulting from needs analysis and current research. Acts as the subject matter expert on medically related customer contacts

  Collaborates with leaders from Consumer Health and Office of Science Operations (science research/journals) for training material and to respond to escalated medically related questions from customers.

  Collaborates with the Office of Science team leaders to problem solve, improve processes, and revise and develop educational materials to drive excellence and support the common goals and mission of the organization.

  Creating tactics and responses independently and with other teams to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer service.

  Audits inbound customer calls for evidence of appropriate communication within Heart Association/Stroke Association science.

  Document customer interactions by entering, transcribing, recording, storing, and maintaining information in Association approved software.

  Maintaining Stroke Support Group data for up to 800 independently operated groups.

  Qualifications

  Bachelor's Degree in a related area

  Current RN license

  Thorough understanding of the effects of stroke

  Two years of the following experience:

  Direct stroke patient support (required)

  Independently managed small projects with deadlines.

  Developed and presented medical subject matter.

  Demonstrated excellent written communication.

  Proven critical thinking skills in assessing needs and available resources to efficiently implement new and existing processes and resources.

  Preferred :
