  We are currently recruiting for a Nuclear Services Quality Technician (Inspection) for our Peterborough, Ontario location.

  Qualifications:

  College Diploma as a Mechanical Engineering Technologist or Technician and/or relevant trade certification with Metrology experience.

  Demonstrated ability to interpret GD&T and drawing requirements.

  Intermediate computer skills and experience including Microsoft Office Suite, CAD/CAM.

  Excellent communication skills.

  Demonstrated team player.

  Must pass medical exams to qualify as a Nuclear Energy Worker (NEW).

  Must be able to travel to customer sites.

  Desired:

  Nuclear industry experience.

  Welding and weld inspection experience.

  Experience with CMM programming & operation including PCDMIS software.

  Product/Process/Equipment qualification experience.

  Electrical Assembly (cable harness, PCB, PLC) production or inspection experience.

  Duties:

  Receiving Inspection of purchased items and materials.

  Document deficiencies and participate in their resolution.

  Inspect manufacturing items at production checkpoints.

  Metrology Instrument calibration and database maintenance.

  Final inspection of completed items.

  Thorough and proper recording of inspection records.

  Read, understand and implement quality procedures and instructions.

  Follow policies and procedures.

  Ensure high quality output.

  Display questioning attitude, raise quality concerns.

  Technical and Professional Knowledge:

  Perform daily measurements and provide technical feedback on component/part conformance to design.

  Make sketches and rough layouts, record and analyze data, make calculations and estimates, report findings.

  Safety Awareness:

  Identify safety issues and problems.

  Take appropriate corrective action.

  Monitor the corrective action.

  Contributing to Team Success:

  Contribute positively to goals and objectives.

  Involve and take input from others.

  Keep others informed of actions/ideas.

  Display positive attitude.

  Applied Learning :

  Participate in learning/training activities and opportunities.

  Learn and follow manufacturing documentation, procedures and instructions (QCI, MEI, etc.).

  Managing work:

  Focus on priorities set by business/supervisor/manager.

  Properly prepare and schedule time allotted for task(s).

  Leverage resources, cooperate with other work groups.

  Energy:

  Meet demanding productivity goals.

  Perform repetitive work without losing effectiveness.

  Decision Making:

  Identify issues, problems and opportunities.

  Gather and interpret information, generate alternatives.

  Choose appropriate action.

  Commit to action.

  Selected applicants will be tested and interviewed.

  The starting rate for this position in Ontario is $38.91 per hour. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, retirement and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment and are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
